Software Developer – C++/Python for Autonomous Aerial Systems

Do you want to write code that actually flies? We’re looking for a software developer with strong C++ and/or Python skills who wants to help build the software powering our unmanned aerial systems (UAS) – for real.

At Evolved Aerospace, you’ll work close to the hardware, but with full focus on the software that makes the aircraft intelligent, safe, and autonomous.

About the Role

You’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle for our UAS systems:

  • Development in C++ and/or Python, for both embedded systems and higher-level applications
  • Design and implementation of real-time logic, mission management, and control algorithms
  • Integration with autopilots and communication links, e.g., MAVLink
  • Testing and verification in both simulators and real-world flight environments
  • Opportunity to influence architectural decisions, coding standards, and CI structure

Who We’re Looking for

  • Solid experience in C++ (preferably modern C++) and/or Python
  • Knowledge of communication protocols for UAS/robotics, especially MAVLink or similar
  • Understanding of real-time systems, embedded systems, and low-level programming
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), build systems (CMake, Make), and testing
  • A university degree in computer science, mechatronics, robotics, or similar

Experience with ROS, simulation (Gazebo, PX4 SITL), sensor fusion, or autopilots (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot) is a big plus.

We believe you are

  • Passionate about code quality and elegant solutions
  • Eager to test your work in the real world, not just in theory
  • Skilled in structuring and documenting code
  • Responsible, independent, and a collaborative team player

What We Offer

  • A key role in a high-tech UAS company with a strong development culture
  • The chance to work with advanced autonomous systems from code to flight
  • Fast iterations from idea to testing – see the results of your work quickly
  • Flexible work environment, competitive salary, and technical freedom

Application

Send your CV – and preferably code samples or a GitHub link – to career@evolved.aero.

Ready to write code that flies? We look forward to hearing from you.

Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer

This is a full-time hybrid role for an FPGA DSP Firmware Engineer at Evolved Systems Corporation. The successful candidate will work on hardware and FPGA-based embedded systems development. The role will involve working collaboratively with a cross-functional team and communicating effectively with the software team. The position is based in Linköping, with flexibility for some remote work.

We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven practical engineer that can work across domains with highly experienced peers.

The person we seek will be responsible for implementation of high-speed signal and image processing in high-end FPGA hardware and should have experience and solid knowledge of the AMD-Xilinx toolchain, and a good sense for how the internals of the FPGA work.

As we are looking for a generalist and “expert” the work and responsibility can extend to board level specification and design, DSP algorithm design, AI implementation, system, and firmware responsibility.

Our team are building advanced flying sensor systems for both military and civilian applications. Our focus in our US operations have been on advanced autonomous or automated flying sensors for wildfire monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and border protection (human trafficking).

However, right now our focus is to help Ukraine, Europe, and the World defend our way of life. The drone-based systems we develop in Linköping, will help Ukraine to clear their fields from mines, and get their food production going. We are also building signal surveillance systems, anti-radar devices, and stealth drones to help defend their troops.

At the same time, we are actively building up the capability to address a multitude of future applications in the infrastructure and agriculture sectors, when regulations allows it.
